Abby is right. Though she might have been more astute in saying last week's action could be an economic catalyst. I doubt companies are going to lay-off their workforce because their market cap has now been halved. I doubt the welfare payroll will now triple. I doubt companies are going to halt or even curtail their purchasing needs because most don't sell stock to generate revenue (Amazon does though...), thus making recent market activity a "market" event.

You and others keep forgetting the market hasn't gone to ZERO. Several enormous assumptions have been made about the transferability of paper wealth, and how liquid it is. Ok, so people can't buy their starter castle. Most people are living off of their salaries, not distributing (to themselves) a weekly salary drawn from stock profits. Many have been in this market for a very long time and are taking it in stride... and are still in the black. Not everyone hopped into the market just last week. After Monday, every favorable earnings release will draw investors and traders alike, albeit more slowly.

It really sounds to me like you got a little burnt, but that happens. I still have faith in people affinity for a good bet, and today's technology easily caters to all betting kinds.

Hey, PPOD ended up for the day. Explain that one to me.
