Here's a nice subdued post, the kind that's nice to read after a market like Friday's:

If increasing Athlon production by 1 million increased earnings by $1 (once you get past break-even the profit ramps very fast)
then:

AMD stated projected Athlon volumes for year 2000:
2Q 1,800,000 Earnings: $1.90
3Q 3,600,000 Earnings: $3.70
4Q 7,200,000 Earnings: $7.30

so Q4 earnings = $7.30 * 4 = $29.20 * PE of 60 = $1752.00 per share and at that point FAB 30 is just getting started. This will be good. This will be VERY good! I'll be able to start my research center!

I'm not sure I totally agree with his logic, but I sure like his spirit! (let's see, that puts our forward P/E at about 2, doesn't it? So there should be a bit of room on the upside.)
