The Dirt, the Whole Dirt and nothing but the Dirt!!!

Latest foibles in Iomegaland, Malaysia....
Word comes from an institutional publication that jaz disk production has indeed been halted, and that it has nothing to do with suppliers and everything to do with assembly line problems in Penang.
IOM apparently halted production to cleanse the system, but it is not at all clear that the problem has gone away. There appears, according to this source, to be design problems in the line itself which are contributing to production defects.

Now why don't one of you good ole boys call IOM's new mouthpiece and find out if they wish to confirm or deny these rumors. Of course, if they deny the rumors and the problem turns out to be bigger than the company previously stated, you will know that YOUR company does not exactly deal straight with you. Love and Kisses.

P.S. The strange part of this story to me is the suggestion that IOM produces its own jaz disks. Is that true or do they do some licensing to companies that know how to produce in sterile environments?
