I'm sure if you were to take a random sample across all the threads on SI you'd find very few people accepting losses as their own responsibility.

What you will undoubtedly find is a lot of "they did it to me" type comments.

As a reminder of my own naivete, I have a chart on my wall showing where I over-committed capital to one company. It started to drop. I bought more. Dropped more. Bought more. Rallied a bit and then I bought a TON more.

Bottom line, it of course dropped like a rock soon after.

I knew I was ready for this game right then and there, as I blamed myself for being stoo-pid. I was uninformed, or worse, partially informed but didn't follow the rules I thought at the time I had sworn to follow.

Never made that mistake again :)
