tekboy: One of the reasons I have been so interested from an intellectual and investment standpoint in Mike's perception that an individual company may be different animals or royalty in different areas where it operates, is that this kind of company is so hard to deal with in gorilla game terms.

Two examples are GE and SUNW.

What are they?

Should they be in the "thinking person's portfolio" as growth with relative safety in mind?

Sun Micro is considered royalty here - a king or a prince - differences of opinion on that depending on focus.

But what about GE?

Is GE even a "tech" company? Much of it is much like a bank.

But anyone who has looked at what has happened to these two companies in the latest unpleasantness notices that they are riding through the storm like the strong ships that they are.

This isn't the time for a full discussion of how to deal with such companies (IBM is another), but it still seems that there ought to be some way to discuss them here within GG terms.

Comments?

Best.
