Damien...
>>Also, as I've mentioned before, I cannot understand the strategy behing making developer licences really expensive. Microsoft uses the opposite strategy, and I think everybody acknowledges that they know a few things about how to market software.<<

I agree with you 100%! IMO, almost ALL their sales efforts should be directed toward selling DEVELOPERS. Capture a vertical market. Get the developer leaders in several markets. Once that happens, then the "spider" like effect of licenses spreading out happens much more readily.

Again IMO, selling consulting services AND SW in the same niches, is NOT developer friendly. Developers who really know their market have a much better shot at selling consulting services and successfully installing them. In addition, they would work much more closely with EXLN knowing that EXLN was a real partner not a potential competitor.

I would also like to know if their SW pricing "scales." Do they offer a plan in which the developer can get the license at a VERY LOW PRICE but after that EXLN gets a cut on every transaction. Get the leading developers, develop a scaling pricing plan and wow, miracles happen.

If anyone knows I surely would appreciate a reply.
