I just read a wire story where the Vice President of Strategic Theft and Bullsh*t at a Major Brokerage Firm said that we're in "week two of a five- or six-week process", so don't buy on good earnings news.

I think having a plan in this situation is the same as having a plan in Las Vegas for the next spin of the roulette wheel. I am concerned that there isn't more emphasis in the press on the already known fact that IBM is going to come in flat or down. Intel's 50-50 to disappoint or pad IMHO, and Microsoft is likely to issue some kind of bogus report where the number is in line but the "quality", upon closer examination, stinks. HWP? Fuggedaboutit, where did SUNW's market share come from? They'll pretend they can't hear the analysts' questions on the con call because there's too much toner in their ears.

Yet the press is saying, over and over again, "Earnings are going to be FAN-tastic, but don't let that fool you into thinking the market will improve." What happens when a bunch of DOW stocks issue crummy results on top of that kind of setup?

I don't get it. I wish I was 100% in cash but I'm not. The only silver lining is that SUNW will stand up better than most to whatever's coming.
