Just in case anyone was wondering, Q earnings will be in line with estimates. How everyone will react to this is another Q-uestion. Some things that are certain: 1. Who/what will be first to rebound, given the assumption of a recovery? Those companies that are growing the fastest and/or have earnings? Recent history has answered that. 2. Went into a brokerage Friday afternoon (Markets were closed) and there was a line outside with people DEPOSITING checks. The lady said that some were last minute IRA's and some were margin, but MOST (mine included) were just plain old deposits. A 'reverse run' on the 'bank'? I bet you won't here about that on the news. 3. The slate is clean and it is time to get back to basics for many. Nothing has changed, except perception. 4. Has anyone bothered to look at a 1 yr. chart on Q? Even though a 100% decline has occurred from the $200 high, the recent plunge is small in comparison. For those who have lost most everything, this is of no consolation. But, for those who are starting or want to average in, this is a gift which will not stay under the tree for long. But remember, recoveries are usually slow and rocky, unlike declines. But the wagon lumbers on... Q rocks, just a matter of time...
