Steve, some years back a major corp. and its union had a contract expiring at midnight, which, if not signed, would automatically call for a strike. they were close, but not ready to sign, when midnight struck. so they re-wrote the minutes of the meeting to state that midnight had not struck. when they signed at 2:30 am, they agreed it was 11:30 pm.
