Cognitronics Announces Volume Purchase of Its Voice Processing Systems

DANBURY, Conn., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Cognitronics Corporation (AMEX:CGN) today announced that a nationwide,
independent telecommunications company has placed purchase orders, aggregating almost $1 million, for delivery of
Cognitronics' McIAS(TM) 1623/IP voice processing systems in 1997.

The McIAS 1623/IP voice processing systems will be installed on the customer's local network switches to provide enhanced
voice information services. Additional voice information applications can be added to the McIAS platforms in the future.
