It is important to differentiate between the new lows with weak fundamentals unlikely to recover and the "real" companies that will bounce as they find a new valuation in the current market climate.

A lot of newbie shorts will go after big names they know thinking they are finished, only to get squeezed in a rebound when traders come in for a quick profit.

Look at it this way - a dead fish flops around on the dock a lot less than one you just landed.
