Joe, My WAG is that VIA needs AMD's guarantee in order to ramp it's chipsets. Like a while ago, some people said on this thread that AMD gives guaratees to the mobo makers to purchase all the inventory. It makes sense IMHO. It's another way for AMD to make sure the infrastructure will not be a big drag. panic
