Scumbria,

You wrote "Willy will be a good performer, and run at a high clock speed. Let's not kid ourselves."

I agree. The only point I've been trying to make is that many analysts appear to believe that there is a 100% chance that Willy will utterly destroy Athlon as soon as it appears. I believe this view is not based on solid evidence that is publicly available.

Like you, I believe Willy will scale well and perform well. Let me put it this way. IMHO, Willy is not going to leave Athlon/Mustang in its dust. IMHO, Athlon/Mustang is not going to leave Willy in its dust.

IMHO, if the chips are in the same ballpark (+- 10%), this is a home run for AMD, particularly if Mustang has a large die size advantage versus Willy.

You also wrote "Sorry to rain on the anti-Willy parade".

I've been saying that there is a non-zero chance that Athlon/Mustang will always have a higher clock speed than Willy. Do you disagree with this?

Mike
