STRATHMORE RESOURCES LTD. ("SMR-V;SHMFF-L")

- Option Agreement With Dan Proctor On Hot Rock Property

Kenneth Friedman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Strathmore Resources Ltd. announces that further to the April 16, 1997 news release, Strathmore Resources Ltd. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has consummated its option agreement with Dan Proctor on the Hot Rock property in the White Canyon mining district, 45 miles southeast of Hanksville, Utah. The Utah property, covering 1 3/4 square miles, contains a bedded (penecordant) uranium deposit
averaging seven feet thick, primarily in the Shinarump member of the Chinle formation. Assays have yielded as high as 3.0% uranium oxide, with much of the deposit averaging 0.7%.

The Company is currently contracting for the supervision of a drilling program on the property, with the aim of proving up a mineable resource by the end of this year. Subsequent announcement will keep shareholders informed as to the progress of this program.
