Wish I could say the same for calling them on the phone

I got bit by the oddball odd-lots on Island this morning. Put in an order for 100 NSCP at 31, got 29 shares. It ticked up, so I cancelled the remaining order, and place an order for 71 shares at 31 1/4, which was the new offer.

It sat there. And sat there. And sat there. And sat there. I tried to cancel the order, which showed the price as 31 1/4? (with a question mark). I couldn't cancel it, it told me there was some problem with cancelling it.

I tried to get through to Datek by phone. Impossible.

The order eventually went through 10 minutes later, after the offer traded through my price both ways several times.
