As long as people are disclosing mistakes, I will share one of my big ones. Not having an understanding of the nature of my Gorilla, CSCO, I sold 40% of my CSCO holdings during the correction of 1998. I thought I would be able to buy back in at lower prices or at slightly higher prices when things turned around. Well, CSCO suddenly turned around and took off like a rocket. I never did get my CSCO shares back. CSCO always seemed too expensive after that. Of course, that one bad timing move more than wiped out four or five good timing moves.

Sure, there are many people that have timed very successfully in the short term---or even for a period of many years. But in the long run, the evidence is overwhelming that Mike Buckley's disciplined ltb@h strategy will outperform all timers. In fact, I bet there is not a single timer reading this board that has produced superior results to Mike's ltb&h rsults since 1990---a relatively short period in terms of ltb&h. Nothing ever changes. The disciplined tortoise always beats the rabbit---by a large margin. Now if only I could borrow Mike's self discipline, I would be very wealthy.

Best Regards, Huey
