Anybody want to compare TI to Intel shows that he does not understand the microprocessor and DSP business. Both Microsoft and Intel reach their dominat position because of a lot of historical reasons and a lot of luck plus IBM's incredible amount of mistake. It will be very hard for anybody to reach that kind of position again in a treally global economy like today. TI only has 40% of the DSP, there are many other very strong competitors. Ti will be lucky if it can keep its 40% market share. Based on my analysis and other information, there is a strong possibility that Intel will leverage its microprocessor and semiconductor expertise into the DSP market if they think there is money to be made. My conclusion is a lot of people is dreaming about TI, and will be surpised when they see teh reality.
