I tried a utility I downloaded the other day. This thing checks your system for unused .DLL files and allows you to move them, and later delete them if moving them doesn't cause trouble.

Gotcha! In the process of determining which .DLLs are used, all the files on my system were checked. The downside is that they are now all flagged as recently accessed. Norton's SpeedDisk now puts these files at the front of the disk since they were so recently accessed: Previously, the unused files worked their way to the end of the disk, out of the way of the 'useful' stuff.

Perhaps in a few months the 'use' database will once again reflect my system accurately and enable SpeedDisk to place things optimally.

Cheers, PW.
