Larry - The difference between a legit MLM and a pyramid basically is product. Is there a marketable product. Three factors I look for before leaping on a MLM opportunity - (1) Good Marketing Plan. (2) Sizzle Product. (3) Ground Floor. If all three of these factors are in place, its worth looking at.
Marketing Plan. Should be a Unilevel or something that has "passive income" possibilities. I am through with Binaries and Breakaways.
Sizzle. Must be emotionally driven. Once people use the product, if they can't wait to talk about it to their friends, there you have it. MLM must be ultimately about "selling product". Leverage is the key. With many people multiplying under you, a small percentage from each sale can render you a fortune. MLM is about earning a teeny % on masses, rather than single big ticket sales and one-time high commissions. There is no advertising, so our personal downline-networks and ourselves are the vehicle (word of mouth), therefore, the product MUST be good or the principle form of advertising won't work, that is word of mouth. If the product is GOOD, then people are emotionally driven to talk about it.
TIMING. Well, groundfloor is a big advantage. And being in the industry for awhile allows one to be aware of pending opportunity before everyone else does. You may have to try doing MLM for a couple of years before you really get a good vantage point for knowing about breakthrough product early. As soon as you have had relative success, you more or less are targeted thereafter by everyone. Can be annoying, but if you begin to trust certain individuals and if you apply the three factors to "deals" brought to you, possibilities are pretty darn good. Groundfloor is always a big advantage in any business, MLM is no difference.
So - there is your overview. I think I-Link has all three factors. I am somewhat more accostom to applying the above scenario to consumable, personal care or health oriented products, but again, the presenter of this opportunity helped me decide, too. |
