<<As a reasonably intelligent human being, I don't see how this is necessarily any kind
of victory for AMTX.
BBN/GTE will use CSCO. Yesterday we saw that Cisco / USRX will use the hot
TI C6X and *Aware*. Where in the GTE announcement was AMTX mentioned?
What am I missing here?>>

Steve,

With all due respect you're missing alot.

- GTE has conducted successful ADSL trials with AMTX/WSTL --FACT
- GTE said to "roll-out" national internet network for voice, video,
and data -- FACT
- GTE has said todays announcment (Interop) is very, very positive
for AMTX. --FACT

Hence my conclusion, GTE will use WSTL/AMTX for ADSL deployment.Unless
they wish to start trials all over again with Aware and their super
128/256k speed (from USRX announcment).

I don't think I'm going out on a limb here, but I am open
to other viewpoints. Enjoy your day.

Bob
