SmartSales has made appointments to fill two key staff positions. Natalie Gauthier
has been appointed as marketing manager for OutSmart, North America and
Catherine Hortsing has been appointed as senior account executive for OutSmart
for Workgroups, in North America.
Don Parker, president and chief executive officer of SmartSales, said: "These
appointments represent the company's continuing progress in expediting our
market development activities for OutSmart in North America. Ms. Gauthier's
prime responsibilities are to position and develop the OutSmart brand, and ensure
that every one of the estimated 60 million users of Microsoft's Outlook, know and
understand, the value added by the OutSmart extension. Ms. Gauthier's
credentials include product management experience for one of the leading North
American consumer communications companies, where Ms. Gauthier was
responsible for product strategy including brand management as well as sales and
distribution strategies for the company's Canadian brands. In addition, Ms.
Gauthier has marketing management experience acquired at Bell Emergis, where
she was responsible for managing the product direction for the Bell e-commerce
systems."
"Catherine Hortsing will be one of the three executives responsible for the sales of
OutSmart for Workgroups to the SME marketplace in North America," Mr.
Parker also said. "We have agreed on an aggressive target and we want to bring
the value of OutSmart for Workgroups to the first million and a half small- and
medium-sized enterprises as fast as possible. Ms. Hortsing's background in sales
and marketing management will allow us to begin to unlock revenue streams as we
ramp up and complete the development activities for the Enterprise Exchange and
hand-held device versions of OutSmart."
