Hello Ike,
Logging in here after a long hiatus and you are still on the money! I wanted to see if you had any thoughts on the following scenario:
- 1999 saw unprecedented capital gains.
- Most people including myself have waited till last week to file our returns...in the process discovering the huge debt held to Uncle Sam...causing us to dip into cash or margin...exasperating the market slide which was already reeling from inflationary pressures.
- Pretty soon the treasury will be awash with cash from taxes on the huge stock gains...causing it to buy back treasury securities.
- Bonds yield go down, causing stocks to go up.

What do you think?
