This is by no means a broad based rally. Naz stocks were down 3 to 1. The stocks that make up the Naz 100 had a rally, a narrow rally as 30 of the 100 are at 52 lows. CNBC pumped ORCL, CSCO, AMAT, and SUNW all day, even when they were down. A move in the largest cap stocks on the naz moves the index more because it's a weighted index. CNBC is trying to turn the market up. Without a active market there is no reason to have CNBC, who cares? If it works it works but just be careful if you think it's over. The comp closed up 217 but a broad based rally would have put it up 341.
