Daniel,

So how many suckup posts do you have here anyway, DAVE?

Someone tries to explain how both sides can look at the same animal and come up with different understandings and that's sucking up? Generally, you suck up to someone when you can get benefit from it. Scumbria has no effect on my life or my investments so sucking makes no sense. Why should I bother to suck up to him?

Scumbria does, however, have a reasonable personality that doesn't include (anymore than the rest of us) calling people names and insulting them. We can have a reasonable discussion and disagreement without making it personal. He contributes information to the conversation.

I don't much care what happens to Rambus the stock. Mostly, I just don't want computer memory to get more expensive.

Again, we agree. We'd certainly like to see the price come down as well. But I suspect what you really mean is that you'd like to see RDRAM the product fail. What business are you in that the price is so important to you? Especially in light of the slide that shows that RDRAM will provide significantly lower latency when we get into high-bandwidth applications (which are coming, of course, just as we've been increasing bandwidth needs for the past 15 years)?

What's your beef with Rambus? Why do you get so bent out of shape about it? You certainly don't have to buy an RDRAM-based machine right now -- you can get plenty of fast Athlon/SDRAM systems from Compaq, Gateway, etc. No one is forcing you to buy a Dell B Series system or an HP Vectro VL600. Why don't you just buy your SDRAM and forget about RDRAM? Why the obsession?

Dave
