Chris:

GTE has made an "bid" to acquire BBN; it's a friendly offer, not a done deal.

In my opinion (and, like all long-suffering BBN shareholders, I do have one...), chances are BBN won't go for only $29.

And this isn't wishful thinking on my part. Fact is, BBN is just too big a gem for any competing telecom company looking to make inroads into the Internet. So, I would be very surprised if we don't see a counter offer from someone else, and then another offer from GTE.

Looking at this longer term, $29 a share ($616 million) is just too cheap for BBN. It would be a disappointment to see BBN sold at this price.

regards,

JS
