Maurice, last time I looked my passport still said "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island." The "Great" refers to the biggest of the islands of Britain, but you probably knew that.

I don't know why you would want to take your G*phone to Britain - unless you were going to the Highlands of Scotland. Tri-mode phones are available that can be used in Britain and in the US; they are cheaper and no bigger than ordinary cell-phones. Incidentally, my Kiwi boss tells me they have been available in NZ for years, and he moans that when he asked in the US for a cell phone that would work elsewhere, the staff looked at him as if he wanted one to work on Mars and Venus.

Sorry that this is negative. I don't own any nor am I short G*. I still think Third World call-boxes should get more attention from G*.

Ps. Maurice, I didn't answer your response to me on the "What you like" thread because I agreed with everything you wrote. That is worrying.
