Bluestone Software CEO P. Kevin Kilroy talks to The Wall Street Transcript
April 17, 2000 07:15 AM Eastern Time NEW YORK, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wall Street Transcript has published an in-depth interview with P. Kevin Kilroy, CEO of Bluestone Software BLSW , in which he talks at length about his company's future. The entire 3,600-word interview is available free online at twst.com
Kilroy states, "Bluestone Software is an outgrowth of a company that was called Bluestone Incorporated, which was founded in 1989, principally as a Unix-based consulting organization. By 1992, we realized that we needed to deliver a tool to help our clients build solutions. This then became a defining moment in our history, and we hired our core development team. That organization remains with us today, and has remained with us since 1992."
Kilroy explains, "Bluestone is an enabling infrastructure provider clearly centered around delivering all its solutions in the Internet. We are certified 100% Pure Java. This is a certification from Sun, which gives us platform independence, total neutrality. We are pure XML, which gives us the ability to have a universal language between proprietary legacy data sets and allow them to take them into New Age paradigms. So quite frankly, relative to how we take advantage of the Internet, it is our business. Our business is centered around delivering software for people that are engaged in Internet activity."
Looking forward, Kilroy states, "On the short-term horizon, the single biggest opportunity is the explosion of wireless e-business. We have been delivering solutions for wireless platforms for the better part of two years. I believe that that will be a fairly explosive growth opportunity in the latter part of this year. We shall start to see some real deployments in that regard."
