Excuse me, I thought it was understood that making moral demands involved the beneficiaries of government largesse. Since conservatives are not equivalent to libertarians, I can only say that we are for reducing the role of government for the most part, but that it depends on the issue. But the main thing in mind is the sort of thing practiced in twelve step groups, like acknowledging a higher power (however you conceive it), taking a moral inventory, making amends, and the like. Also, merely taking a certain attitude towards the recipients of aid, for example, expecting them to pull their weight by participating in the activities of the soup kitchen or shelter, helping to set up, serve, and straighten up, treating them as responsible and able to contribute, makes a large difference........
