Since conservatives are not equivalent to libertarians, I can only say that we are for reducing the role of government for the most part, but that it depends on the issue. So conservatism means what you wish it to mean at any given moment. I disagree with the libertarians on many issues, but at least they have the virtue of ideological consistency, which is markedly lacking among conservatives, liberals, and most others. I don't disgree with the substance of your post, but I suspect that the Olaskys of the world would take it a bit farther than that.
