E, the abortion issue is an extremely difficult one for conservatives. Some believe the baby has a right to life and they come down on protecting that innocent life. No baby ever chose to be murdered. Conservatives disagree on how the issue should be handled. Disagreement is a healthy part of our democracy if you ask me.

On the other hand, liberal Democrats would argue the baby is never alive and his/her fate should be decided by the mother until separation occurs. Even allowing the killing to take place at nine months if deemed desirable. To me, having the right to kill a completely viable and healthy nine month old baby because it happens to live inside you is ludicrous. I mean what really is the difference between killing a nine month two week old baby just before it exits the mother, and killing it 2 minutes later?

Most Americans (including most conservatives) believe in some kind of balance between the two positions. I happen to fall into this camp. I believe up until the child can live outside the womb on it's own, the rights of the mother supersede. Then after such time, the rights of the child to be removed and live take over. Given today's science, that time is rapidly being lowered. And I could envision in the not too distant future 10 week old babies being able to survive and live outside the womb on their own.

Would you deny them the right to be taken out of the womb and live on their own? Partial birth abortion should be banned. Even C Everett Koop a liberal Democrat has gone on the record saying it is NEVER performed for the health of the mother.

Conservatives disagree about the issue. Many, believe the issue should be decided by each state and not the federal government. Democrats don't allow any discussion and try and paint a picture they are all in agreement. One side is in healthy disagreement, the other in politically correct silence.

I know what camp I would rather fall on.
