<<Does the U8 come in high capacity, low platter count version ?>> Sarmad....U8 is 4.3 GB/surface, comes in 1 and 2 platter versions with 1, 2, and 4 heads to yield capacity points of 4.3, 8.4, 17.2GB. The older U4 was a 2.1GB per surface drive. Competes with wdc,qntm, and mxtr 5.1 GB/surface 5400 rpm drives which will be at 7.5GB per surface by this fall. I think at that point 85-95% of all desktops will ship with a single platter drive, most in a 2 head 15GB configuration. There is some hope there for a leveling out of component compression in that part of the storage spectrum. In high capacity enterprise the beat goes on :o) Best Regards.....Tom
