:-) Nice question. Of course I use the standard Palm IIIc software, but not everything is a PC. Motorola has made a Linux version that will be used for telecommunication devices, that need to have less than 5 minutes downtime a year, planned or unplanned.

If you want to mass produce some embedded device, this is where small system requirements come in. Linux is especially good in the non-User Interface devices, but with some of the latest additions to the kernel (framebuffers, integrated web-server in the kernel etc), it will probably be the smallest multi-tasking operating system in the world with 7x24 support from so many companies.

I do not say that "scalability" is a meaningful word to use, I was just trying to say that there exists no operating system that is more scalable than Linux.
