sigma design does not buy chips from cube. it has its own MPEG-1 single-chip solution. announced a few weeks ago. incorporation of mpeg in high-end pc will make this baby a killer. the amount of cube's market exposure in this area is minimal. however, someone mentioned the temporary availability of cl480 chips on bloomberg. this may due to the fact sigma pushed out cube's mpeg chipset orders (since they got their own). the PC mpeg board market is expanding at a fast pace in summer 1996 and perhaps going into 1997 (?), all market competitors will benefit as a whole.
