I have been trading options in my SD RRSP for over a year now. You are allowed to buy CALLS and sell covered calls. That's it. Not puts or naked writing. Basically, anything you need margin for is not allowed as Margin is not allowed in your RSP accounts.

Ask your broker. Etrade Canada and Schwab Canada allow this.
