Mike, I'm really not trying to hit below the belt. This was the sentence that set me off. "Thanks for LL article, TJK. No question, women are treated like garbage by all brokerages, big and small (recent 20/20 dealt with numerous Smith Barney sexual harassment charges)." It just really struck me that that was almost the identical rational that the LL broker gave me.
I happen to strongly believe that there are reputable brokers out there, and when you say "all brokers treat women like garbage", my reading comprehension interprets that as though you consider that to be the norm. It also smears the brokers who are reputable. I personally consider it as totally unacceptable behavior, and a very strong indication that this particular firm has no regards for anyone but themselves.
All you have to do is read back through my posts, and you will discover that I have been trying to provide relevant insight/analysis for those looking at DWCH. From the start, I've stated that the stock was very risky, having shown no signs of recovery since last July. I've also indicated that LL engaged in practices which appeared to me as though they were con artists. Twenty-two pages of complaint summaries seems to validate that analysis. Personally, I happen to so strongly detest that kind of scum that I wanted to do whatever was possible to assist others in not being taken in. It was unfortunate that so few seemed interested in hearing that kind of information.
LL has reduced the money I entrusted them with by 70% since January (fortunately, it was a small part of my portfolio). They constantly maintained that they only recommend seven or eight stocks a year - but neglected to mention that those seven or eight were mostly garbage stocks that they are the sole MM for. They also constantly tried to get me to send more money, which I wouldn't do. That seemed very blatant to me, to ask for more money when they had already done so poorly.
If anyone has any additional information concerning the alleged ban on them doing business in Colorado, I would be very interested. I've called the SEC and NASD, but didn't get much info. Con artists do get very cocky after awhile (it comes from assuming everyone else is as ignorant as they treat them to be), and that would be just the kind of slip up they might make.
That's all for now.
