Rich, You make some really good points.

The issue about project size is very interesting. I can see why the company wants big projects, especially for ObjectStore, since the sales model for that product is so expensive. If you could buy the product direct over the internet, the selling costs would be much lower and therefore the need for big projects would not be so compelling.

As for Oracle competing, they sure do have marketing clout. However, for object-oriented software development, their technology is still weak. Informix and IBM are stronger in object storage technology, but ObjectStore has some unique technical advantages that are protected by patent. I think it's a real shame that the company seems to have really just given up on that opportunity.

I am sure that IBM and ORCL will give EXLN a run for their money in the B2B market. They have massive marketing clout and I am sure if EXLN starts giving them trouble, they will be able to offer hefty discounts to try eliminating the source of the trouble.

I can understand the company opening up new product lines and that seems like a good move.

But I cannot understand the apparent decision to abandon all hope of ever making the ObjectStore product line successful. It just seems crazy.
