[USRX Hybrid Chat]

Bozo,

The "bottom line" on the USRX 128k/256k is "interim". What makes
you the RBOCS/ISP's and others are excited about installing
a 128k/256k "interim solution" when Westell and others have 1.5MB
available TODAY.

It's like buying a 386 PC when the Pentium is available.. what's the
point?

Face it, USRX is trying (and rightly so) to put a "good spin" on
a 56k modem that's gone within a year.

A question that "get's me" is the 128k/256k speed...is this the best
Aware can do? I thought they had DMT.

USRX will get their share and they'll get more share when they
team with TI/Amati in putting together a 1.5mb-52mbs migration
strategy. It's not available today...that's the problem...so USRX
needs to "make do" with a "light offer" which is not light for ISP's
and CO's and others to install for a "short term solution".

If USRX didn't like Amati...why did they want their code "for free".
They should have paid. I think they can do more "damage to the USRX
brand" by introducing interim another solution.

I'm not against USRX. I just think they made a mistake. Let GTE roll-out
their national ADSL internet network with Cisco/Amati/Westell in Q3...
that's good enough for me (in '97) and will certainly help the stock
price.

My Thoughts,

Bob
