This question surprises me--but let me tell you why I think it's wrong. It smacks of the same entitlement greed that we're spending so much time criticizing here. I don't see that forcing me to pay for your parents' care is your right, just because you want their money. You have the option of taking care of them at home if you like, thus preserving the assets. But for them to give you their money and then ask me, the taxpayer, to support them is outrageous. Why are you entitled to compensation for paying taxes or feel that you have the "Right" to an inheritance? Why is paying for your parents any different than paying welfare? The whole point of our discussions has been personal responsibility-and it seems to me that you are abdicating it. (But I still like you a lot and i'm not fighting with you)
