Infowave releases wireless enterprise products for Windows-powered Pocket PCs
GRAND CENTRAL STATION, NY, April 19 /CNW-PRN/ - Infowave Software, Inc. (TSE: IW - news) today announced that its wireless enterprise solutions provide wireless access to enterprise resources from the Pocket PC. Pocket PCs are next generation handheld devices and provide people on the go the freedom to manage their work and life wherever they are. Infowave, a Pocket PC launch partner, had its wireless enterprise products featured in a demonstration during the keynote given by Steve Ballmer, President and CEO of Microsoft, during the official launch of the Pocket PC at New York's Grand Central Station. The demonstration illustrated the power of the Pocket PC by accessing the Internet and corporate Microsoft Exchange email using Infowave for the Net and Infowave for Exchange.
Pocket PCs offer pocket versions of important business applications including Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word and Excel. Pocket PCs are small, powerful and offer expandability options including the addition of a clip-on wireless modem. International Data Corp. is predicting a steady growth for Windows CE-based devices over the next three years, growing to 40 percent of the market by 2003.
