Eski and anyone who was around in '98, '87, '72,

I am curious about the formation of a W in the Nasdaq. Did it occur in each of the above years?
Was the right side bottom ever deeper than the left?
Does anyone expect the left side and the right side to be closer together in time?
Will the anticipation of a retest keep money out of the market until the retest actually occurs?

I have a friend who in '98 was burned by the right side of the W and he is adamant about not chasing in hear.
