I have a couple of questions for the thread:

I am traveling to Italy this week and I'll have my laptop along, made for use in the US. The power supply says "INPUT: 100-240V--50/60 Hz". Will it handle the higher voltage there without an additional step-down transformer, or is there possibly a jumper inside the power supply case, or none of the above?

If it does adjust automatically to the higher voltage, could I just buy an inexpensive passive adapter for the wall receptacle, or do I have to buy something else? What the stores have around here, is a complete kit for an around-the-world trip that is obviously more than I will ever need.

Thanks in advance,
Frank
