I think the widespread practice of female circumcision is to destroy sexual pleasure and to reduce women to marital slavery. Many men in such societies claim to experience sexual pleasure from having sex with infibulated women. Much social behavior is aimed at reducing or thwarting sexual pleasure, i.e. reducing reproduction.
I think there are instincts that make most people want to have sex. I think that one major reason for culture is to establish social control of sexuality. Many cultured people are disgusted by natural sexual behavior because their cultures forbid or punish promiscuity, incest, and perversion.
It seems clear to me that most species will by evolution adopt sexual behaviors that provide a suitable number of offspring to permit the species to survive. With civilized people, any system that permits survival will be considered "moral." Thus ayuvedic urine drinking seems to be okay unless one has STD, and Fore brain eating was destroying the Fore people, but it was not immoral. There are different sexual strategies, however. Human beings tend to be democratic and many women and men reproduce. Usually more than half of the new born survive to adulthood. Guppies tend to eat 90 per cent or more of the new born. De gustibus.
