Yesterday, the United Nations condemned Cuba, once again, for human rights abuses. Most nations recognize that Cuba tortures and imprisons innocent Cubans, and takes many children away from their parents. At least in Miami, Elian is with loving family and friends. In Cuba, he would be a ward of the pervert Castro, and probably would not be with his parents.

I think that we will see a playing down of the entire issue by Janet Reno. I think that politics moved her hand. The Clinton administration wanted to make sure that the U.N. would condemn Cuba once again. Now that Cuba has suffered another loss at the hands of world nations, Clinton won't be in a hurry to send Elian back to that prison island.
