OT - Telling on Mike...

I just can't stand it. I've got to jump in here about one of Mike's (and my, I blush to say) "learning experiences".

Let's see, some air-conditioner company... ICGN... process for cooling/drying air. Going to take the air-conditioning world by storm..... According to my records, I only lost 38% on that one. If I'd held a year or two longer, ICGN would have re-invented itself as.. ta daaaaa! An INTERNET company! That's right folks, the same people who made air conditioning units would now become Rare Medium (RRRR), which has gone up handsomely, but which, is still losing money (TTM -$2.55).

The really nice thing about maturing as an investor is you can glance at some things and say "not a chance". You may get lucky on some nonsense like I just described, but you quickly realize that it's just that, luck. I'm much more comfortable with downturns in my holdings when I thoroughly understand why I'm in a company and the reasons are other than "because it's going up".

My most recent favorite has experienced some extreme swings. I'll admit to a couple of stomach flip/flops, but haven't seriously considered selling any and I'm sleeping *much* better at night than I did with smaller swings of some of my other investments.

Anyway, I couldn't resist

Besides, Mike can needs a little ribbing from time to time.

All the best
Erick.

P.S. For a suitable bribe, I'll take you through some of my serious blunders... Actually, I won't. Too embarrassing.

P.P.S. Mike, whatever happened to Judy (Shrimp)?
