So what's it like to be from ElianLand? We used to think we had the market for fruits and nuts sewed up out here on the left coast. Looks like y'all are at least pulling up even.

Just so folks know, Paradyne used to be a division of AT&T.

Now are they still fighting any of them there CAP/DMT battles or is that all settled now? Sorry to pull a Rip Van Winkle on you here, but I just never did get a satisfactory answer to that one.

I just ran into a USWest guy at the local Home Depot. He tells me that there will be ILEC DSL here in Bend within a year. Mind you, we've heard the same thing for the last two years, but that's neither here nor there. And especially not here. Did I ever tell you about the time I moved, about 5 months ago, and when I switched the phone over the USWest rep breathlessly offered me "Megabit DSL service at 256K"? Then discovered they actually didn't service the area? No? I coulda swore I mentioned that.....
