one screw up by AMD which no one seems to discuss the possibility of would destroy this stock.

AMD hasn't made any screwups in a long time. Two years ago they looked bad because they were trying to compete against PII's 12 stage pipe with a very short pipe on K6. In fact, they did a remarkable job of staying close to Intel despite a horrendous architectural disadvantage brought in by Nexgen.
