James this reminds me of something I was thinking about earlier in the week. My job is to take issue with testimony submitted by others before a regulatory body. Often-times I have gotten myself so worked up about the smallest issue and the Commission's seeming unwillingnes to consider the testimony I've submitted.

I saw the rush coming in my recent task and could feel myself getting worked up about several issues -- I prayed to the Lord that I could approach the task with love -- remembering Jesus discussion with the Pharisees -- (from the BOV, Barry's own version) especially the part about giving everything on the inside as charity (love) so that everything else would be clean for you. I really tried to do this in this task. I still got a little worked up at times but much less personal - a lot more at peace about not having answered every question convered every important issue, etc.

How hard it is to be objective when others criticize us, especially if we really need it. People have made a joke and I think there is a country song about "Lord help me be humble," but I really need to learn this -- I have bouts where I get to thinking my thoughts on matters are surely superior to the thoughts others in many regards. The result of this is not peace but certain frustration. The truth remains that God knows our hearts and He's not impressed by knowledge. We are very limited in our knnowledge -- the truly worthwhile things
surpass knowledge

the Peace of God

the Love of Christ.

Thanks for your post.
May His Peace be abundant in your life in every circumstance.

"His peace is like a river ...
