Leading Document ASP Continues to Build Blue-Chip Customer Base

And Expand Online Services Capabilities

SAN DIEGO, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- docHarbor, a leading document Application Service Provider (ASP) and a business unit of Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), demonstrated its industry leadership at the recent Association of Imaging and Information Management's (AIIM) Expo and Conference in New York City. docHarbor executives delivered five high-profile conference sessions that reached more than 1,000 conference attendees and which focused on industry trends and the value of the ASP approach. AIIM capped off docHarbor's first six months of operations, in which it has generated significant market interest and new contract signings.

Among 11 recently-signed contracts, which include several top-tier brokerage firms and the world's largest express delivery company, are American Express, Centura Banks, Inc., Delta Air Lines, The Hartford, Perrier, Salomon Smith Barney, and Tischman Speyer. With these customers alone, docHarbor has contracted to store and deliver well over 1 billion pages annually.

docHarbor leverages the latest technologies to enable its customers to maximize the power of their corporate information. As an ASP, docHarbor assumes full responsibility for hosting and managing its corporate partners' vital documents, using secure, fully-compliant, online communications to allow those documents to be quickly accessed by a company's employees, customers, partners, and suppliers. The effectiveness of docHarbor's offerings is enhanced by a unique approach for identifying and analyzing its clients' document-management and business-process requirements. This process enables docHarbor to apply its web-based services optimally in order to fulfill customers' requirements more effectively.

"If you look at where we started in October, we have clearly made significant progress," said Ralph W. Koehrer, president and chief executive officer of Anacomp. "Six months ago, we started pretty much from ground zero. Since then, we've built an infrastructure that is unmatched in the industry, we've hired more than 20 new business development executives in our key vertical markets, and we have entered into contracts with some top-tier companies who will rely on docHarbor to manage their documents."

docHarbor's state-of-the-art e-document center in Herndon, Virginia currently has the capacity to ingest 100 million pages a day and store in excess of 5 billion pages of customer content. The infrastructure is highly scaleable, allowing for nearly unlimited expansion. The facility is designed to deliver the guaranteed application uptime, performance, and around-the-clock availability, security, and service that docHarbor's customers require. A second facility in Dallas provides redundant support.

"Going forward, we have a pipeline of excellent prospects and we are really seeing the benefits of increased market understanding and acceptance of the ASP model," said Koehrer. "We expect that the volume of customer documents hosted by docHarbor will grow very rapidly over the next several quarters, requiring us to expand our capacity well ahead of our original schedule."

In addition to building its customer base, docHarbor has expanded its capabilities to support a range of high-value applications such as EBPP, e-confirmations, and customer self-service. docHarbor's newest services include an electronic delivery capability that provides secure online communication between customers and their business partners and consumers, and e-mail compliance support that combines storage of emails with flexible search and retrieval capabilities.

"As we continue to invest in this business, we are focused on recurring revenues," continued Koehrer. "We are aggressively adding customers and exploring additional applications with existing customers to drive growth. It is a very exciting time at docHarbor. We are creating a new market space that we believe will redefine the industry and set the standard for web-enabled document delivery."
