Mike,

The story is not false. If it were false, don't you think Antec would have denied it? I spoke to Antec's director of shareholder relations for about twenty minutes and he confirmed to me that the calls were made because some of the analysts had gotten out of line with their revenue estimates. Analysts downgraded the stock in the week after the calls were made citing the revised downward revenue guidance.

I'm not going to rehash the selective disclosure case. It's unethical and in my opinion illegal, but the SEC is still taking public comments on what to do about this serious issue. I just try to stay away from companies that do it so blatently. I do not deny that it is difficult not to do it sometimes because companies often have almost incestuous relationships with their analysts. But they need to respect the law.

I think your bias is showing, Mike.
