Genset and Abbott Laboratories signed a new research
agreement to discover genes associated with bipolar
disease.

-- Metabolic disorders

Genset signed a research collaboration with the Whitehead
Institute on obesity and diabetes. Genset was also granted
the exclusive license on the patent covering
ACRP30 a protein associated with obesity.

-- Other research activities

Genset reached an important milestone in its research
agreement with the plant genomics company Ceres.

Genset signed a research agreement with Corixa to sequence
an undisclosed microorganism.

-- Oligonucleotide division
Genset continued its geographical expansion and opened a
new subsidiary in Australia.
